An enhanced IoT architecture for healthcare using secure Software-Defined Fog gateway

The Internet of Things (IoT) encompasses a diverse array of technologies, systems, and platforms designed to elevate the quality of services across various applications by enabling intelligent devices to connect, share data, and collaborate in decision-making. One of the most rapidly advancing domains within the IoT landscape is healthcare.Furthermore, we have witnessed a significant surge in the convergence of technologies like Software Defined Networking (SDN), Blockchain, and Fog computing. These initiatives hold tremendous promise for the future and are vital for ensuring the sustainable growth of IoT applications, particularly in the context of intelligent healthcare.This work proposes an enhanced IoT architecture, especially for the health field. The goal is to add a smart gateway layer, which handles the interaction between IoT devices that use different heterogeneous technologies at the network level. This gateway is the secure software-defined fog system based on all of these technologies (SDN, Fog Computing, and Blockchain), which benefit from these advantages.The main goal of this gateway is to reduce latency, minimize bandwidth, and secure the interaction between smart devices in healthcare applications
