Formation of Nanopores in Anodic Oxidized Aluminium Affected by Carbon Nanodots

Formation of nanopores in anodic oxidized aluminium in (AOA) a solution of oxalic acid containing carbon nanodots (CNDs) was investigated. The size of pores is 20–40 nm, the thickness of pore walls is up to 50 nm. When the carbon addition is absent, these values are 50–100 nm and 30 nm respectively. The effect of CNDs is explained from the point of view of their adsorption on AOA, preliminarily the nanoparticles were researched using UV-VIS spectroscopy, dynamic laser scattering (in aggregated state), Raman and FTIR spectroscopy. Highly disordered structure of CNDs has been found. Adsorption isotherm obeys Temkin model. Crystallization of AOA under hydrothermal conditions at 200° C is suggested.
