Performance Analysis of DP-QPSK based FSO Systems under Different Weather Conditions

Weather conditions have a big impact on how well free-space optical (FSO) communication systems perform. The performance of an FSO system based on Dual Polarization Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DP-QPSK) is analyzed in this paper in relation to the effects of various weather conditions. Fog, rain, snow, and atmospheric turbulence are among the weather factors which are taken into account. Bit error rate (BER), Constellation diagrams, and Q-factor are used to assess the FSO system's performance in various weather scenarios. Based on the results of the simulation, it can be seen that the DP-QPSK-based FSO systems provide very high bit rate performance and perform well under different weather conditions due to their digital coherent receiver. This paper also compares the performance of the DP-QPSK modulation format and NRZ binary modulation format for multi-channel wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) FSO systems.
