Comparison of THz time-domain imaging and pulsed thermography for nondestructive observation of paintings

THz pulsed time-domain imaging and pulsed phase thermography are compared as nondestructive inspection methods for paintings. Experimental results suggest that the former is effective for revealing precise layer structures while the latter is of practical use for examining the overall condition in a short time.
