A Novel Tracking and Location Mechanism for Network Function Chain

As an infrastructure supporting communication technologies such as 5G, B5G and 6G, Network as a Service (NaaS) has become an emerging trend for Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and needs to meet the multi-service requirements in different scenarios. While promising, the quality of the virtualized network services may degrade due to the failures such as resource exhaustion and error configuration. In this way, it becomes extremely important to improve the flexibility and reliability. In this paper, we propose a novel tracking and location mechanism for network function chain. We aims at decomposing a complete service into multiple refined sub-services when implementing the process of tracking and location, where three sub-services are designed including configuration and deployment sub-service, tracking sub-service and location sub-service. The experimental results show that the proposed mechanism has excellent performance in terms of tracking accuracy and location accuracy.
