Implementation of Low-Pass Filter Using Only MOS Transistors

This research article comes with a design of first order and second order voltage-mode (VM) low-pass filter (LPF) using MOSFET only. A traditional RC based low pass filter uses passive resistor and capacitor but the proposed design utilizes MOSFET based resistor and capacitor for the implementation of filter. The proposed filter cut off frequency (f

) has in the order of 5 MHz. The proposed LPF provides tunable facility by using controlling voltage of MOSFET without changing the value of any components. The functionality of proposed LPF is verified by using PSPICE simulation with 0.25μm TSMC CMOS technology parameters. The simulated validate the theoretical concept. Finally, the comparison study is also reported with existing one.
