Industry 4.0: Digital Twin's Industrial Applications

A virtual counterpart of a real-world good, system, person, community, or even city that is continuously updated is known as a digital twin (DT). It acts as a link between virtual cyberspace and actual physical entities and is therefore seen as Industry 4.0's cornerstone and the future of innovation. From birth to death, so to speak, a DT is made and employed during the whole life cycle of the creature it mimics. The DT has drawn a lot of interest from both business and academics since it is a key technology for achieving smart manufacturing and industrial digital transformation. There are numerous applications for DT. Different reference models and research techniques have been offered for the elements of the DT. Due to the variety of application domains, this study undertook a cutting-edge survey from the standpoint of DT, spanning recent publications and DT industrial applications, to close this gap. Concept, operation, main characteristics, and scientific research has been presented in this paper. Some industrial operation in the context of DT was introduced particularly from the viewpoint of plantwide optimization.
