CEEORP: Cluster Based Energy Efficient Optimal Routing Protocol

In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), energy conservation plays a crucial task due to the presence of a restricted resource environment. It can be overcome by adopting clustering regions in the network. The reason for choosing clustering protocols is for reduction of energy consumption and for network lifetime improvement. This outcome can be done through the single node in a clustering network called Cluster Head (CH) with integration of multipath routing and energy model. In this work, Cluster-based Energy Efficient Optimal Routing Protocol (CEEORP) is proposed to attain high energy efficiency through proposed network parameters like delay metric, energy metric and optimal CH ratio. The proposed work consists of three major stages. In the first stage Cluster region is created and CH election is implemented based on energy metric, optimal metric and communication metric. In the second stage, multipath route establishment is implemented to ensure error free transmission and reduced network traffic which supports to improve energy efficiency. In the third stage, energy model is introduced to balance the energy of CH and CM. From the results, CEEORP provides better performances in terms of network parameters.
