An analytical Study of Mobile Applications Recommended by The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah

Every year, millions of Muslims visit Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Hajj, a religious pilgrimage. To help pilgrims overcome potential challenges, several public and private organizations offer a range of services and facilities. Technology has acquired growing attention as a key tool for offering services, particularly modern technology used to deliver varied services includes mobile applications (apps). Various organizations have created Islamic applications for smart mobile devices to help pilgrims conveniently carry out their Islamic rites. This work analyzes and reviews all Hajj and Umrah mobile applications developed or recommended by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Furthermore, difficulties and limitations in these applications are discussed, and new solutions are recommended to address them. The results show that the average software size is 72.08 MB, and the total size of all the programs under analysis is 937.1 MB. To this end, this research examines how many languages were used in various applications. It turns out that English continues to be the most often used language in apps, with a usage rate of 100%, followed by Arabic (91.67%), Urdu (50%), and French (50%). Turjuman has the most language options, with 25 supported languages.
