Acoustic Emission in a Bimaterial with an Internal Crack

The dynamic problem of the displacement field in an elastic bimaterial, generated by time-stable displacements of the surfaces of a disk-shaped crack in one of its components, has been solved. The bimaterial is modeled as two ideally contacted layers with a mode III crack in one of them. The boundary integral equations method was used to solve the problem. The dependencies of displacements on the bimaterial surface on the wave number, on the distance between the observation point and the defect epicenter for different stiffness ratios of the bimaterial components, were established.
