A Conceptual Framework for the Design of Digital Repository Interfaces Supporting Digital Content Reuse Assessment

We propose a conceptual framework for the understanding of use and reuse of digital content in order to inform the design of future digital repository user interfaces. The conceptual framework proposed here was initially developed, drawing upon the data gathered through surveys and focus groups with digital repository practitioners of cultural heritage knowledge organizations in the United States. Based on the conceptual framework we propose a number of digital repository user interface design ideas that could support digital repository managers in identifying and assessing digital content reuse instances and to assess the value, impact, and relevance of their digital content and collections.
