Development of IoT-Based Monitoring & Notification System for Cold Stores for Major Seasonal Crops in Rural Areas

Uttarakhand is the most popular state to produce the fruits and vegetables like Apple, Tomato, Mango, Litchi, Guava, Apricot, Green peas, Cauliflower Capsicum, etc. in India Production is gradually increasing as a result of changing agro-climatic conditions and more readily available bundles of activities. Despite the fact that there is a lot of room to expand output, a lack of advanced cold storage monitoring facilities is becoming a key impediment to realizing the potential. So, this can be overcome through an IoT-enabled monitoring and management system to monitor and manage cold stores remotely using a mobile or web application. Using this, a device system node placed at different locations inside the cold store chamber will sufficient. The device node should be able to monitor the various required environmental factors as well as provide the inputs to the controller for further control and mandatory actions. According to the field study, several environmental characteristics such as store humidity, poisonous gases, temperature, light intensity, risky activities, and others such as employees must be monitored in cold stores in order to maintain the quality of the commodities. As a result, a device node with all of the needed sensors and parts for processing and communicating is planned, produced, and tested with the goal of deploying this system. The device node has been built to monitor and process various environmental factors as well as other operations. As a result, the quality and longevity of all commodities stored in cold storage can be improved.t.
