Research on Mechanical Vibration Measurement Method Based on Event Camera

Vibration measurement is widely used in equipment quality inspection and fault identification to evaluate the operating condition of mechanical equipment. Event camera can perceive the surface light intensity changes caused by equipment vibration and has the feasibility to visually describe mechanical vibration behavior. Based on the analysis of the principle of converting vibration behavior into event stream data by event sensors, this paper proposes an algorithm to reconstruct event stream data into the relationship between vibration displacement and time, realizing the extraction of vibration signal amplitude-frequency characteristics. A vibration measurement experimental platform was built, and feasibility and effectiveness tests were carried out for mechanical equipment such as vibration motors. The experimental results show that event camera can effectively perceive the amplitude-frequency characteristics of mechanical equipment surface vibration and is sensitive to changes in light intensity, providing a new noncontact and visual method for vibration localization and amplitude-frequency analysis in engineering.
