Evaluating a Reference Model for Shared Autonomous Vehicles using Phoenix

In this research it is proposed a sequence of procedures that originates a theoretical model for an ecosystem that supports autonomous mobility in urban areas. It starts with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and continues with Topic Modeling, aiming to identify main concepts, which are then modeled in ArchiMate into a model for the deployment of shared autonomous vehicles (SAV). Proposed model is then validated following a Design Science Research Methodology, where the ecosystem that supports Waymo’s driverless cars offer in Phoenix is analyzed, identifying then the differences between the authors’ model, based mostly on prescriptive research, and Phoenix descriptive scenario. Gap analysis’s conclusion evidences the need to fine-tune the original model through an agile workaround to overpass the lack of ecosystem elements, to improve the time to market. Result is a more solid model to be used as a decision-making tool in autonomous mobility decisions.
