IoT based Smart Water Meter System with Sensor

Water is a very precious component in every individual’s day to day life. Increasing water consumption and wastage day by day is high to look over it. Water wastage has been a serious threat to the world. Due to increasing of population rapidly, there has been a problem of irregular water distribution management. People in some areas do not require much water supplied by the water board where as some others require water more than given. This leads to water shortage in specific parts. As a result, user-monitored real-time smart water metres are crucial and make up a significant part of the water management system. The proposed smart water meter connected to esp8266 is based on IoT which measures daily water usage and feeds live data on the phone, that is connected to a ThingSpeak database, which can be easily accessed by the concerned authorities through which they can monitor monthly. This results in effective distribution of water. Running taps are a common source of water wastage. To prevent this from happening, an ultrasonic sensor is connected to the tap with a delay so that when there is no movement in front for more than the given delay the water flow is stopped.
