Reducing Service Response Time Using Genetic Algorithm in Mobile Edge Computing

The emergence of mobile edge computing (MEC) can greatly reduce the service invocation response time of edge users. Because the location of users in MEC is dynamic and the geographical location is constantly changing, and the rate of data transmission is closely related to the movement of edge users, which will affect the response time of service calls. To deal with this challenge, this paper proposes a service selection algorithm based on genetic algorithm, which can minimize the total service response time of edge user services. In the experiments, the method adopted in this paper can effectively reduce the service response time.
