Analytic, structural, and experimental testing of permanent magnet synchronous machine controller using Typhoon HIL

The goal of the paper is to present a workflow for 3-way validation of a permanent magnet synchronous machine field-oriented controller. The first model is based on the analytical approach building a system model using Energetic Macroscopic Representation (EMR) for the complete test facility. The second approach is to use the dedicated structural components from the Typhoon HIL schematics software library. These virtual replicas are then validated by results obtained in the same operational condition from the actual test bench. In doing so, the study targets proving the accuracy of the virtual models with regards to the behavior of the real setup.
