A novel whale algorithm-based optimization method for D2D resource allocation

A novel whale algorithm-based optimization method for D2D resource allocation is proposed to address the serious co-frequency interference and reduced spectrum utilization caused by the reuse of cellular user resources by D2D (direct through terminal) users in cellular systems. First of all, determine the power range that guarantees the quality of communications for cellular and D2D users; Second, a new whale optimization algorithm is used to determine the optimal launch power of the D2D and maximize system throughput. The method improves the algorithm’s convergence accuracy and merit-seeking capability by improving the non-linear convergence factor and adding an adaptive inertia weighting factor. Simulation results show that the proposed optimization method not only reduces inter-system interference but also improves system throughput.
