Slotted Waveguide for High Dielectric Heating

A longitudinally slotted waveguide (LSWG) for high dielectric $(\epsilon_{r}=10)$ heating applications has been designed and investigated. The effect of the key design parameters of this LSWG, specifically the slot length $S_{L}$ and the offset distance $S_{c}$ were examined using CST Microwave Studio Suite. When $S_{L}$ and $S_{C}$ are varied the waveguide resonates at a different frequency. The $S_{L}$ has a noticeable effect on the resonance frequency, whereas, the $S_{C}$ has a limited effect. For the $S_{L}$ of 20.8 mm and $S_{C}$ of 4.5 mm the waveguide resonates at 2.45 GHz.
