Nine-Level Switched Capacitance Multi-Level Inverter with Charge Balance

Multilevel inverters are quite common in PV systems nowadays. Particularly for high-power applications, multilevel inverters have several benefits over regular inverters. Other benefits include enhanced output waveforms due to the multilayer inverter's production of nearly sinusoidal output voltage waveforms and minimal total harmonic distortion. This paper represents a Switched capacitor Nine-Level Inverter with Charged Balance, where we have used the cascaded H-bridge structure, which is the most alluring one due to the technology extended with a megawatt power level. Due to that, the H-bridge is suitable for DC/AC medium to high power applications. These types of inverters will be mostly used for the power applications such as Renewable energy systems, electric vehicles and motor drives etc., but the H-bridge structure is replaced with two half bridges on both sides of the inverters that we have proposed. By changing the structure, the overall output or the maximum voltage stress(MVS) has been increased by 2Vdc times, and also, the charge among the capacitors will be maintained as constant as Vdc which makes the circuit balanced all the time. The findings of this paper's simulations verified the phase voltage, line voltage, and output voltage and total harmonic distortions of the same with respect to fundamental component.
