Implantable Nanophotonic Neural Probes with 3D-Printed Microfluidics

Implantable neural probes with microfluidic channels have been previously demonstrated for multi-drug delivery [1] and neurochemical sampling [2] in brain tissue. We have previously demonstrated foundry-fabricated implantable nanophotonic neural probes for functional imaging, optogenetic stimulation, and electrophysiology recording [3]–[5]. To further extend our neural probe functionalities, here we present the integration of microfluidic structures onto neural probes with precise and flexible 3D printing.
