Propulsion and Control of Microrobot using a Multiple Wireless Power Transfer Coil

Microrobot can be used for a various kind of applications. To maximize the utilization of microrobot, the mobility as well as providing electrical energy is necessary. Therefore, by using a time-varying magnetic field, which is accompanies on wireless power transfer system, the magnetic force and torque is applied to the magnetic material have been researched. In this paper, a multiple wireless power transfer coil based microrobot control is analyzed. The transmitting coil is selectively activated to generate the impulsive magnetic force and torque on a magnetic material based microrobot. The 3D FEM electromagnetic simulation was conducted to validate this idea and the results showed that the magnetic force and torque can be varied according to the incident magnetic field direction by using a multiple transmitting coil.
