Group-level analysis of relations between resting-state functional connectivity and arithmetic ability using CONN

This study investigates the relationship between resting-state functional connectivity and arithmetic performance. The goal is to explore the functional connectivity presented for arithmetic ability. We used preprocessing and denoising methods provided through CONN to clean the raw fMRI data. We also implemented a first level analysis and second level analysis on both the resting state and the arithmetic task data. Results revealed that arithmetical ability is correlated with functional connectivity between the left Juxtapositional Lobule Cortex, the right Inferior Frontal Gyrus, the right Frontal Orbital Cortex, the right frontal pole, and the right Lingual Gyrus. These results suggest that the neurocognitive mechanisms of arithmetic processing are complex and involve various regions of the brain, which require coordination and cooperation within specialized functional brain regions.
