Using Spatial Indexing Systems to Optimize Emergency Response Routes

In an emergency, dedicated vehicles play an important role. The response time is one issue that must be considered. In this article, we propose a framework for simulating emergency situations that takes into account the following parameters for problem solving: vehicles with capacities (ambulance vehicles equipped with specific equipment or with a limited number of seats, fire engines, etc.), types of intervention (fires, natural disasters, road accidents, etc.), buildings/dispatches (which have a limited number of places available for treatment or have the necessary equipment). The ideas of space indexing and route optimization are merged to handle these characteristics.
