Research on High-Reliability and Portable Dynamic Binary Instrumentation for Linux Syscall

Dynamic binary instrumentation (DBI) is an important technique for program analysis and debugging, especially for complex and large-scale software systems. However, existing DBI tools suffer from the problem of high overhead and low reliability. In this paper, we propose a high-reliability and portable DBI framework for Linux syscall based on the QEMU. The framework uses a combination of interface-based and blind-instrumentation methods to collect syscall information, and introduces a novel syscall tracking mechanism to improve reliability. Our experiments show that our framework is effective and efficient in collecting syscall information, and the overhead is acceptable for practical use.
