Design and Development of a Cloud based Dashboard for Indoor Vertical Farming System using ThingsSentral

The ever-increasing population of the world has created more demand for food and the conventional agricultural system is struggling to meet this demand. The vertical farming system is a novel method of farming compared to the traditional agricultural system that has proven to be a sustainable system for food production. Integration of Internet of Things (loT) technology with vertical farming system has enhanced the efficiency of yield generation by allowing the user to monitor the farm's environmental conditions and status in real time, ensuring minimum loss. A cloud platform is essential for hosting and visualizing the vertical farm's data in real time. In this research, ThingsSentral cloud platform has been chosen for hosting and visualizing the developed vertical farming system's environmental data. An ESP32 based control system has been developed that reads the sensors' values, controls the water and light, and transmits the sensor values to the cloud platform. ThingsSentral Cloud has been chosen due to the flexible and versatile features offered by this cloud platform.
