Scan your way to success

An image scanner was utilized to create soft copy art that greatly reduced time and costs in developing a documentation library for a printer product. By using the image scanner technology, it was possible to meet the goals established when this project was planned: (1) development and production costs were reduced (approximately 126 hours of illustration time were saved); additionally, pasteup time for drafts was eliminated; (2) and aggressive schedule was met, where the illustration schedule was reduced by three weeks; and (3) cut and paste was avoided because the artwork was included in the documentation as soon as the artwork was scanned and turned into soft copy.<>
