An IoT-Based Smart System to Monitor the ECG Continuously and Alert the Medical Practitioner in Case of Emergencies

The shrinkage of sensors and subsequent attempts to apply modern technology to various disciplines in an effort to better human life are two examples. The integration of technology into the healthcare industry has been identified as a promising subject for future study. Healthcare services are prohibitively expensive for those who need them, particularly in less developed nations. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to address a contemporary issue in healthcare delivery. A remote healthcare system was the primary focus of the project. It is divided into thirds. The first part involves monitoring a patient's health status with sensors; the second part involves uploading that information to a cloud service; and the third part involves providing access to that information from a remote location. Because the information can be accessed remotely, a doctor or guardian can keep tabs on a patient's health even when they are not physically present at the facility. The transition from traditional medical consultation to more convenient and cost-effective telemedicine has been made easier by IoT developments. All of a patient's vital signs, such as temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and EKG signals, are constantly monitored by the proposed device and sent to a related hybrid cloud server every 10 seconds for the attending doctor to look at. In the event of an emergency, the system will send out alerts via Telegram message utilising GSM technology and trigger an alarm system. It allows medical professionals, family members, and friends of patients, wherever they are in the world, to keep tabs on vital signs in real time. A total of 15 individuals were included in the study, all of whom had positive outcomes. This paper's proposed system reveals a future vision of biomedical engineering: a patient-and doctor-controlled, highly responsive, and interactive intensive care unit.
