PV Penetration Impact Study for Future Micro-Grid in Jordan

This work presents a novel approach to converting a traditional business park into a smart business park using the micro-grid concept. The selected micro-grid for this project is the King Hussein Business Park (KHBP) in Amman, Jordan. The current distribution network's original single-line diagram, sizes, and project schematics were obtained in CAD files from the site administrators. The existing grid was first modeled in DIgSILENT PowerFactory in its general outline specifying the sizing of loads, cables, circuit breakers, transformers, and voltage levels. A micro-gird infrastructure with various distributed generations and their design were modeled and examined. Load flow and harmonics study cases were carried out to do an assessment of the model.
