An Electrically Tunable Antenna for IoT Applications

In this paper, a frequency reconfigurable antenna is designed to tune the frequency within the Sub - 6 GHz spectrum to support IoT applications. The antenna consists of two patches, connected electrically together through two Varactor diodes, used to implement the frequency tuning. The full-wave simulation of the proposed antenna resulted in a wide tuning range of 50.22% with an overlapping S

spectrum across 2.45 - 4.19 GHz. The antenna's multiple narrowband tuned responses, as well as the spectrum covered, make the design a promising candidate for IoT applications on Sub - 6 GHz bands such as 2.6 GHz and 3.5 GHz.
