IoT system for non-invasive measurement of physiological parameters in animals

Cardiorespiratory signal measurements in humans are widespread and are used in both hospital and portable devices. However, the application of the monitoring of these parameters in animals is not so extended and, in many cases, devices for humans that are adapted to the characteristics of the animals are used. In this work, a portable measurement system for electrocardiogram and bioimpedance applicable to animals is presented. One key element is the use of electrodes that go unnoticed by the animal. This opens up the possibility of obtaining its cardiorespiratory parameters in a concealed way. The device has an autonomy of 10 h working continuously, including data transmission over the internet.
