Stability Enhancement and Power Flow Control for Lunar DC Microgrids with WBG based Flexible DC Energy Router

Lunar surface power distribution is one of the essential technologies for supporting future space exploration missions. Developing and implementing lunar surface microgrids could address the challenges for lunar applications, such as intermittent power sources and harsh environments. This paper introduces the Flexible Dc Energy Router (FeDER), a modular and scalable power management unit utilizing power electronics circuits for interconnected lunar dc microgrids. The FeDER integrates local energy storage and is designed to provide an all-in-one solution for microgrid power management requirements: fault management, stability enhancement, power flow regulation, and power quality improvement. Specifically, the control strategies for stability enhancement and power flow regulation are presented in this paper. Further, the simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategies.
