Microstrip Patch Antenna for 5G Communication

The development of new on-demand apps that call for high data rates makes 5G technology possible. The purpose of this work is to develop a rectangular Microstrip patch antenna that operates at a frequency of 4.5 GHz, one of the frequency bands for 5G, and may be utilized in small devices like mobile phones, radios, and wireless computers. The analytical and mathematical procedures were utilized to determine the dimensions of the antenna, which was designed using a dielectric substrate with a dielectric constant of 2.17, Rogers Ultralam 1217. The transmission line approach is used to do this. In the High Frequency Structured Simulator (HFSS), a microstrip patch antenna is created and modelled. Antennas specifically designed for 5G should be larger in order to function on lower 5G bands. With a variety of arrangements, including high inclusion at low carrier frequencies and a restricted inclusion region at high carrier frequencies, 5G-NR (new radio) will operate in the frequency range from below 1 GHz to 100 GHz. The antennas are arranged into several classes since the various 5G applications call for distinct types of antennas. In this study, various antenna design strategies that can be used with the 5G framework is compared and contrasted.
