Online Diagnosis Method of HV Transmission Cable Sheath Fault Based on Current Criterion

In view of the online monitoring and judgment of faults in the cross-connected grounding system of high-voltage cable sheath, based on the grounding current at both ends of the sheath, this paper constructs a new criterion using the amplitude and phase relationship of each current, and then realizes the classification and location of cable faults. In addition, this paper analyzes the common faults of the sheath cross-connect grounding system, such as the open circuit of the cable intermediate joint, the water ingress of the cross-connect grounding box and the short circuit of the intermediate joint, and verifies the feasibility of the new fault criterion through simulation, which provides a new method for the online monitoring of high-voltage cable line faults.
