Vehicle Anti-Theft Security System with GPS Tracking and Remote Engine Locking

Car theft is a serious problem around the world that has been continuing for many years. It is still a problem that recurs daily and has caused a great challenge and danger to car owners. The main reason is that vehicles lack comprehensive anti-theft systems. Therefore, comprehensive solutions are required to prevent car theft. This paper presents a car antitheft security system based on multiple techniques, including a Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking system and remote locking engine. The proposed system uses a fingerprint, password, camera, and microprocessor to monitor the car. Two passwords are provided by the system, one to be used under normal conditions and another password to be used under threating condition to notify the security system that the car is being stolen. The proposed system includes a tilt sensor that detects any abnormal movements of the vehicle. In addition, the system is equipped with Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) for sending and receiving Short Messaging Service (SMS) between the car and the owner. The project goal is to protect the vehicle from all types of car theft and reduce the rate of car theft all over the world.
