W-Band Dielectric-Supported Suspended Ridged Micro-Strip Meander Line Slow-Wave Structure

In this paper, a suspended ridged microstrip meander line (SR-MML) slow-wave structure was studied for W-band miniaturized traveling wave tubes (TWTs). The high-frequency characteristics and beam-wave interaction characteristics have been investigated by using CST software. A sheet electron beam, with the cross-section of 0.42mm*0.12mm, the beam voltage of 11kV, and the current of 0.1A, is used to drive the SWS. The particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation results show that the saturated output power of the SWS is 21.2W at 97GHz, corresponding gain of 11.8dB, and electronic efficiency of 1.93%.
