Eigen analysis and optimization of rising sun anode of magnetron using Backtracking search algorithm

Magnetron device designers are facing the challenge of finding the exact design parameters of the resonating structure with empirical equations alone. In the present study, an optimization MATLAB code of the Backtracking search algorithm (BSA) is used to find the exact design parameters of the rising sun bare anode block of a magnetron operating at a frequency of 2.998 GHz. Eigen-mode simulation of CST Studio Suite is used to find the suitable type of strapping case to solve the mode competition issue. BSA is validated with a Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The obtained design parameters with BSA are slot width $(W_{rs})$, longer slot length $(r_{1})$, and shorter slot length $(r_{2})$ which are 2 mm, 37.4 mm, and 34.4 mm.
