Implementation of LED Linux Device Driver in STM32F407VGT6 Discovery Kit

The main aim of this paper is to study about interfacing STM32F407VGT6 controller with Linux operating system and how device driver code works to blink LED in the controller. To achieve this the STM controller is interfaced to Linux operating system using appropriate commands with the help of the command terminal. The device driver code for led blinking is also implemented through the terminal window. The operating system used is UBUNTU version 18.04.6. The microcontroller used is STM32F407VGT6 Discovery board, it is a 32bit microcontroller. The interfacing of controller with Linux is carried through the support of inbuilt ST-Link present in the controller. The device driver code is debugged and compiled using ARM cross platform compiler. This paper also discusses in brief about the command and its functions used in the Linux terminal. The successful implementation of the device driver code is verified using the LED output in controller.
