Effect of Rainy Weather on Transmission Performance of FSO System using BPSK Modulation Scheme

Free-Space Optics (FSO) is one of the innovative techniques in the field of Wireless Communication, which can be applied to establish a link between the end clients and the fiber optic systems wherever wired fiber communication is infeasible. Rainy weather has a significant influence on the performance of free space optical link, which leads to the degradation of link transmission quality and even the signal loss. In this paper, we investigate the performance of a FSO link considering the deteriorations caused by rain. The transmission performance objectives such as bit error rate and quality factor of BPSK-FSO system are simulated and analyzed.
