Improvement of average peak RATIO in OFDM system

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a multi-carrier transmission scheme that uses multiple sub-carriers orthogonal to transmit information. OFDM has been widely used in communication systems for high-speed transmission due to its advantages of high spectrum utilization and high resistance to multipath fading, such as wireless technology. However, the OFDM system's output signal is the superposition of several subcarrier signals, leading to the issue of a high peak-to-average power ratio. Given this, it could result in inter-subcarrier interference, significantly lowering the efficiency of OFDM systems. This also poses a significant challenge to the use of OFDM systems. Therefore, the occurrence of non-linear distortion should be avoided, this paper initiates a research discussion on the issue of reducing the peak-to-average power ratio. , summarizes the previous research results according to the classification of limiting class techniques, coding class techniques and probabilistic class techniques, and briefly analyses the working principles and characteristics of each method implementation technique. At the end of the paper, the limitations of the above methods in practical applications are presented, and the research outlook for new methods to effectively reduce the PAPR of OFDM systems is put forward.
