Research on Health Assessment Method of DC Auxiliary Power Systems Based on Health Index

The DC auxiliary power system (APS) is of great importance for the safe operation of substations. On-line assessing status of DC APS can help identify potential hazards in advance, and avoid accidents caused by the loss of power supply for important loads in the substation. Both the digital transformation of substations and the application of various monitoring and testing technologies for DC APSs provide the basis for the health assessment of DC APSs. Based on the current status evaluation method and the maintenance strategy of the DC APS, this paper presents the concepts and practical approaches for the health assessment method of the DCAPS. Taking the health assessment method of main equipment like transformers as reference, this paper studies the calculation method of the health index for the DC APS, quantitatively expresses the degree of degradation of characteristic quantities, infers and integrates the correlation between characteristic quantities, and studies the dynamic weight calculation method of equipment. The challenges and development of health assessment of DC APSs are discussed.
