Study of the Sustainability of Industrial Power Plants when Moving to Island Regime as a Result of a Sudden Short Circuit

One of the most severe emergency modes of factory power plants from the perspective theory is the imposition of a short circuit on tires of communication with the power system and the subsequent access to separate work. The stability of local generators in such modes can be increased due to their forecasting in order to identify potentially unstable machines. An algorithm has been developed to identify whether the result of a short circuit is a violation of the resulting stability, or the cause is not a balance of active and reactive capacities of the node. If the reason is the lack of balance, then, depending on the configuration of the node, the determination of the loads is provided, which must be disabled in the process of maintaining the separate operation. The algorithm is designed for the use of the operational dispatch personnel of the factory synchronous generators at the stage of forecasting separate operating modes of factory power plants when changing the network configuration. It provides for the use of the Katran software complex, with which electromechanical transition processes are calculated. The developed algorithm will increase the efficiency of emergency modes of factory power plants during separation from the power system. The developed software complex allows: to analyze the effects of changes in the attached load on the increase in the resulting stability, predict when the loading of machines by active and reactive power from the energy system, and if necessary, adjust the voltage and frequency settings.
