Stochastic Generation and Transmission Expansion Planning Considering the Correlation Between Load and Wind Power Output

In the concern of energy shortage and environmental deterioration, large-scale wind power is integrated in the power system, whose output is uncertain and shows a correlation with load, which need to be considered in the generation and transmission expansion planning (G&TEP) stage. This paper proposes an approach to determine the G&TEP scheme to help the power system develop in a secure, low-carbon and economic direction. Firstly, representative scenarios are selected based on demand and wind power output duration curves with the consideration of the correlation of demand and wind power output. Then, a G&TEP model using stochastic optimization (SO) method is formulated, where low-carbon factors are considered, and dynamic reserve constraints are designed. Last, case study is implemented to verify the rationality and availability of the designed approach.
