Remote Health Monitoring of Divers Using Underwater Acoustic Communication

Underwater Research is gaining more and more attention. Experiments conducted beneath the ocean aids in the invention of many things. Many studies have been conducted in the past that have assisted us in discovering the opportunities in the ocean. However, cables are laid beneath the water, which may become damaged due to natural calamities such as cyclones or tsunamis. During this time, the damaged parts must be replaced manually, so divers will enter the sea to investigate the problem. Divers will occasionally jump into the ocean for research purposes. In such situations, they may encounter some difficulties due to unforeseen circumstances. Their body conditions may be affected and become abnormal as a result of the pressure inside the deep sea. Hence, we have proposed a system to monitor them. The biological condition of the diver is monitored using temperature and heart rate sensors and the data is displayed on an LCD display. If the diver notices any abnormal conditions, he or she can press the emergency push button, which will send an SOS message to the receiver along with the diver's GPS location, allowing him or her to be saved immediately. On the transmitter side, an iron magnet serves as a transmitting antenna, transferring biological information as well as the alert message with the GPS location to the receiver. Another iron magnet acts as a receiving antenna on the receiver side, receiving the transmitted information.
