Assessing the Impact of Drink and Driving on Fatalities in the United States using the Fatality Analysis Reporting System Database

To examine the impact of drinking and driving-related motor vehicle crash on fatalities in the US. The paper used cross-sectional data of the US covering 50 states, District of Columbia and Puerto Rico of 2020. The paper used linear regression to estimate the likelihood of death from drinking and driving-related motor vehicle crashes. Some age groups have also been made to check which age groups have a likelihood to die from drinking and driving-related motor vehicle crashes in the US. Moreover, it was also analyzed which sex was more involved in drinking and driving-related crashes of motor vehicles and that it resulted in their death. Historical violation and its relationship with drinking and driving-related motor vehicle crashes have also been examined. The results show Drink and drive has a positive relationship with deaths The study shows a positive relationship between drinking and driving with death from a drinking and driving-related motor vehicle crash. Some preventive measures such as check-posts should be there to stop or reduce prevalence of drinking and driving.
