Performance Analysis of an Indoor Visible Light Communication System Using Optisystem Software

LED's are used for both lighting and data exchange in the rapidly expanding field of visible light communication. In this study, we have investigated the performance of indoor visible light communication with white LED using the modeling tool Opti system. Quality factor and log of BER measurements are used to assess the effectiveness of the Visible Light Communication system at various data rates and link lengths. This system, with a Q factor of 6.508, can deliver a 1 GB/s transmission rate across a connection distance of up to 3 m. The investigation is conducted for the NRZ-OOK modulation formats using a white LED as the communication source. When external ambient light influences are present, the performance of the VLC system is also examined, and its overall performance is improved by utilizing a rectangular optical filter.
