Light Confinement and Multipole Lattice Resonances with Lossy Materials

We analyze the generalized Kerker effect in nanoparticle lattices made of lossy material (nickel). Because of the periodic arrangement, the array facilitates excitations of multipole lattice resonances. We observe, both computationally and experimentally, that collective coupling substantially enhances the multipole resonances. Resulting in hot spots and higher light confinement, the excitations can be used in designing nanophotonic applications and light harvesting.
