Tunable Infrared Reflective filter Based on Graphene Hyperbolic Metamaterials

In this paper, we present a tunable reflective filter based on graphene hyperbolic metamaterial (GHMM) at infrared frequencies. We calculate the reflectance spectrum of the filter using the transfer matrix method (TMM), and our analysis shows that increasing graphene monolayers drastically shift the reflectance spectra to shorter wavelengths. We also observe that modifying the gate voltage would change the chemical potential of the graphene, which eventually affects the reflectance spectra of the GHMM. Moreover, we observe that the dispersion profile of the GHMM can be controlled by modifying graphene monolayers and the chemical potential of the graphene. We believe that the proposed GHMM could offer great opportunities in developing switchable devices.
