Solitary Saline Monitoring with Alert and Control System Using IoT

The demand for health prevention is growing daily as the world's population increases. Therefore, appropriate health care is a requirement for each individual on this environment. The suggested system avail IoT-enabled device that monitors the volume of saline solution in a saline bottle and automatically stops the flow of the solution when the level reaches a critical threshold. This is accomplished using a piezoresistive sensor that is placed near the bottom of the saline bottle to measure the volume of the solution. Piezoresistive sensor is used here as a novel sensor due to its high sensitivity property compared to other sensors, wide dynamic range, highly durable and resistant to environmental factors. The sensor is connected to a microcontroller, which processes the data from the sensor and determines when to stop the flow of saline solution. The IoT platform can be accessed by healthcare workers or caretakers to monitor the status of the saline and if the level exceeds the threshold limit, it will automatically get closed and sends alert. Hence, the proposed solution provides a more reliable and automated approach to managing the saline drip rate, which can help to prevent serious complications and improve patient safety in hospitals and private homes.
