Evaporation Prediction for an Efficient Irrigation Cycle

One of the reasons agricultural unpredictability is so detrimental is that people don't know what to expect for the future growing season. Because they are unprepared for the weather events that do occur, farmers and other agricultural decision-makers base their choices on their knowledge of local climatic patterns. One of the key meteorological factors that the crop irrigation cycle depends on is evaporation. Farmers can implement a better irrigation cycle based on their crops with the aid of accurate evaporation forecast. Multiple step-wise regression and artificial neural network regression models have been constructed for the prediction in this study, and they are compared with each other to determine which model produces the best results for predicting crop water needs and establishing better irrigation cycles.
